Looking for plans to keep your family occupied over spring break? As opposed to a year ago when many of us were scrambling to change our spring break plans due to COVID-19, this year, things are inching closer to normal.
But if you’re playing it safe and opting to stay closer to home this year, we’ve got some “staycation” suggestions and ideas to help keep you and your family entertained!

Have A Picnic
Who doesn’t love brown bagging it and taking lunch outdoors when given the opportunity? Whether it’s at your neighborhood park or in your own backyard, throw down a blanket, bask in the sun and enjoy your meal outdoors.
Neighborhood Cleanup
This may not seem like a lot of fun, but YOU can make it fun! Grab a trash bag, some rubber gloves and a positive attitude and help beautify your neighborhood! Challenge your kids to find the weirdest or most interesting thing while cleaning, who can collect the most trash, or whatever creative ideas may come to mind.
Have A Bonfire
Break out the s’mores and gather round the fire! It’s that time of the year where the temperatures are just warm enough to gather outside and share memories while enjoying a nice, warm fire. Be sure to follow all safety protocols, especially if it has been dry in your area.
Go Camping
Spend the night beneath the stars! Whether it’s in your own backyard or at a campground, this is a great way to enjoy all that the outdoors have to offer.
Enjoy Family Time At Home!
Dust Off The Board Games/Puzzles
Have the kids give the XBOX and PlayStation a break for the evening and break out the board games and puzzles! If it takes a little convincing to trade their controllers for a pair of dice, you may want to have some of their special snacks to help seal the deal.
Arts & Crafts
Time to bring out your inner Bob Ross! This is a great way to challenge your family’s artistic skills and bring out their creativity. Put your thinking cap on for this one as the possibilities are endless! Before you head to the local arts and crafts store, you may want to do some research to see what exactly you need.
Spring Cleaning
Before you keep scrolling, here us out! We’ve all been spending a lot more time at home lately, and our homes be a little more cluttered than normal. Set a day or two aside to tidy things up. How can you get the kids to help pitch in? Consider giving them an incentive such as lunch at their favorite restaurant or a prize when they’re done cleaning. Throw on some fun music while cleaning!
Movie Night
It doesn’t get much easier than this! Grab your favorite snacks and find a couple good movie on Netflix. Enjoy!
